Artist Statement

Growing-up around machinery on a large Dakota grain farm sparked an interest in 3-D objects. Careful maintenance was required, such as replacing or welding broken components. Sculpture seemed a natural progression as I pursued art. Bending, shaping and welding metal forms expressed a personal aesthetic. Sculptures titled ‘field marker’ recall the use of sighting mechanisms and kept furrows straight
